A 26-Day Program Module Goal: To provide educators, parents, and specialists with a foundational understanding of special education, different categories of special needs, and effective teaching and therapeutic strategies to support students with disabilities in inclusive learning environments.
Part 1: Understanding Special Needs (14 Days)

Day 1 - Introduction to Special Education
Overview of Special Education and its role in creating inclusive learning environments.
Defining Special Needs: Understanding the meaning of special needs and the importance of tailored educational support services.
Categories: Introduction to the different categories of disabilities.

Day 2 - Physical Disabilities and Impairments
Focus: Overview of physical disabilities and impairments that limit physical function.
Conditions: Discussion of various conditions that can cause physical disabilities.

Day 3 - Developmental Disabilities
Focus: In-depth understanding of developmental disabilities affecting typical development.
Conditions: Exploration of conditions like Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and developmental delays.

Day 4 - Sensory Impairments
Focus: Understanding sensory impairments, including visual and auditory challenges.
Conditions: Focus on visual impairments, hearing impairments, and deafness.

Day 5 - Learning Disabilities
Focus: Understanding different learning disabilities affecting academic performance.
Conditions: Focus on learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia.

Day 6 - Speech and Language Disorders
Focus: Overview of speech and language disorders and their impact on communication.
Conditions: Understanding speech and language disorders like aphasia and dysphasia.
Impact: Recognizing communication difficulties and strategies for support.

Day 7 - Emotional and Behavioral Disorders
Focus: Exploring emotional and behavioral disorders affecting students' well-being.
Conditions: Discussion of conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Day 8 - Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Focus: Review and understanding the characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Understanding: Gaining insights into the social issues, communication concerns and stereotypical behaviors of Autism.

Day 9 - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Focus: Understanding the key characteristics of ADHD.
Characteristics: Understanding inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.

Day 10 - Intellectual Disability
Focus: Understanding intellectual disabilities and their impact on learning and development.
Factors: Addressing genetic factors such as Down syndrome.

Day 11 - Multiple Disabilities
Focus: Understanding the complexities of individuals with multiple disabilities.
Approaches: Specialized approaches for those with combined challenges.

Day 12 - Other Health Impairments
Focus: Identifying health impairments that may affect a student's educational performance.
Overview: Covers conditions that limit strength, energy, or alertness, such as epilepsy and Tourette syndrome.

Day 13 - Recognizing Early Signs of Special Needs
Focus: Recognizing early signs of special needs in toddler years, such as developmental delays.
Identification: Identifying delays in development and communication difficulties.

Day 14 - Gifted and Talented Children
Understanding: Understanding the unique needs of gifted and talented children.
Challenges: Challenges such as asynchronous development, social-emotional needs, and underachievement.
Strategies: Strategies for supporting gifted learners in inclusive classrooms.
Part 2: Therapeutic and Teaching Methods (12 Days)

Day 15 - Differentiated Instruction, Task Analysis, and IEPs
Methods: Tailoring lessons to individual needs using varied methods.
Task Analysis: Integrating task analysis by breaking down complex skills into smaller steps.
IEPs: IEP policies and methods.

Day 16 - Multisensory Learning
Focus: Utilizing multiple senses to enhance learning.
Methods: Using visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile senses to enhance learning.

Day 17 - Assistive Technology
Focus: How technology supports students with special needs.
Examples: Assistive devices include touch screens, light pointers, and voice-to-text software.
Wednesday, June 4, 2025:
Day 18 - Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Understanding: Principles and techniques of ABA for students with autism and behavioral challenges.

Day 19 - Speech and Language Therapy
Focus: Effective strategies to support students with speech and language disorders.

Day 20 - Occupational Therapy
Skills: Focusing on fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and daily living skills.

Day 21 - Physical Therapy
Focus: Improve motor skills and coordination.
Techniques: Techniques to improve gross motor skills, balance, and coordination.

Day 22 - Social Skills Training
Focus: Enhancing social competence and interactions.
Methods: Methods for teaching social skills and improving social interactions.

Day 23 - Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in Multi-Disability Classrooms
Application: Applying UDL's flexible methods (engagement, representation, action) to support diverse learners.
Strategies: Offer choices, varied materials, and adaptive tech for inclusive, goal-focused learning.

Day 24 - Peer Tutoring and Collaboration
Focus: Fostering collaboration between students.
Methods: Pairing students with different abilities to work together.

Day 25 - Activity-Based Intervention (ABI)
Focus: Integrating learning opportunities into daily activities.

Day 26 - Review and Planning
Overview: Review of key concepts and strategies.
Planning: Planning for individual student needs and goals.
